Description
"Black Rose" is a work, ink on paper, created by prisoner artist, Donald "C-Note" Hooker. It is another collaborative work between the artist, and imprisoned as a juvenile, poet, Daryl Burnside; and his poem of the same title. Their previous work as illustrator and poet, was the 1998 work, "No More Massacres." An homage to victims of mass gun violence from Columbine to Parkland. These acts of violence were especially cogent to Burnside having been both the victim, and perpetrator of juvenile gun violence. "Black Rose" the poem and drawing will be recited and exhibited at a Fugitive Kind Live Theater performance, at the California State Prison, Los Angeles County, in Lancaster, California, on December 20th, 2019, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..
